LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
This week, meet Willy Kurtz III!
Willy, owner Bruce Kurtz says, is a salt-and-pepper miniature Schnauzer who turned 5 in May. Willy, Bruce notes, was his emotional anchor during a difficult time.
“My wife passed away in March of 2020,” Bruce explains. “The loss of my wife was the most stressful event I ever experienced. Willy helped me cope with my grief, by providing unconditional love and companionship when times were rough.”
As if that wasn’t enough, the silvery pup helped get Bruce more active.
“Willy got me walking on the Rails to Trails,” he says. “In just two short years Willy has walked over a thousand miles on the Rails to Trails. Even though Willy was born with cataracts, he is still able to navigate the trails and smell the trail fragrances of wild life and vegetation and enjoy the natural beauty of the trails.
“To commemorate that achievement, Willy has his own little bench on the Rails to Trails.”
Congratulations, Willy, on being this week’s Pet of the Week! If you see him on the trail, be sure to give him a cheery hello from LebTown!
