Pennsylvania State Police seek the public’s help in identifying the culprit of an apparent armed robbery at the Truist Bank in Myerstown on Tuesday, Dec. 19.
In a release, state police said that troopers responded to a hold-up alarm at Truist Bank, at 212 W. Lincoln Ave., at approximately 11:47 a.m.
The alarm was activated by a bank teller after a roughly 6-foot-tall black male in his 30s entered the bank and sat down in a chair before approaching the counter and informing the teller that he had a weapon and to give him money. The release does not specify whether any weapon was shown to the teller or what the weapon may have been.
Police said, and surveillance footage shows, the man was wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue medical mask at the time.
PSP said that the teller gave the robber approximately $2,800 in loose cash bills, after which he departed east on foot. Troopers canvassed the area but did not locate the suspect, PSP said.
